Parece increíble que hoy estemos disfrutando el sitio en el que amanecimos, por fin comienza un viaje más balanceado, con más  exposición a cada lugar y más calma. Fue un amanecer tranquilo con tiempo para disfrutar el rosado del cielo y el viento fresco de la mañana, sólo con salir a la baranda y tomar café cada célula se despierta y de pronto  estamos listos para disfrutar.

It seems unbelievable that today we are enjoying the place where we woke up, finally beginning a journey more balanced, with more time in each place, and more calm. It was a tranquil awakening, with time to enjoy the rosy dawn and the fresh morning breeze, just going out on the verandah and drinking coffee every cell wakes and soon we are ready to enjoy the day.

Hay varias cosas que hacer, corregir la altura de las luces del carro, mercar, visitar las cataratas victoria desde el lado de Zambia y pasar los por el mercado de artesanías. Haciendo un ejercicio  de responsabilidad comenzamos  por la corrección de la luces de carro, llegamos fácilmente al sitio apropiado y después de una corta conversación manos a la obra, todo listo, pagamos subimos al carro y al prenderlo, ya lo están diciendo en su mente, el carro no encendió. Ahora estábamos varados en el lugar correcto un taller.

We had various things to do: adjust the headlamps, shop for groceries, visit the Victoria Falls from the Zambian side, and visit the local market. Taking a responsible attitude we started by seeking to adjust the headlamps; we arrived easily at the appropriate site, and after a short conversation it was all hands to the wheel, everything done, we paid, got into the car to start it, and as you are no doubt expecting, the car wouldn' t start. Now we were at least in the right place, a workshop.

Después de chequear una cosa y otra, decidimos cambiar el motor de arranque. Una hora después todo listo, las palabras mágicas: prenda el carro, giramos la llave con la expectativa de escuchar ese sonido ronco del motor, pero no, solo un pequeño clic, el carro no prendía. Esperamos otro tanto y llegó Oscar el electrico, revisó aquí y allá otra vez, desmontó el relay, hizo ajustes y finalmente encendió el carro: ahora está segura Madam, todo va a estar bien.

After checking this and that, we decided to change the starter motor. An hour later, everything ready, the magic words : "start the car". Turned the key with the expectation of hearing the motor roar, and no, a a tiny click. Waited a while until the arrival of Oscar the electrician, who checked a few things, removed the starter relay, did some adjustments (?), and then started the car, "now it's OK madam, everything will be OK".

Dado que el tiempo en el taller fue extenso, decidí explorár uno de los mercados del Centro para superar el medio día, tres plaltos diponibles: torta de carne, somosas y estofado de cuellos y patas de pollo, deseé probar este último, esa salsa espesa de color café oscuro me generó mucha curiosidad, pero resultaba un poco dispendioso, así que ganaron las somosas y fue un alivio para todos los chicos de taller y nosotros comer algo.

Given that the time in the workshop had been extensive, we decided to explore one of the markets in the centre at midday, three dishes were available: meat pie, samosas, and stew of chicken neck and feet. Marce wanted to try the latter, the dark thick sauce having generated much curiosity, however it was not easy, and the samosas won, to the relief of the lads in the workshop we had something to eat.

Ahora tranquilos Salimos a visitar las cataratas victoria desde el lado de Zambia, que cantidad de agua! un espectáculo abrumador. La profundidad de la caída, el viento, los volúmenes de agua, hacen que se cree una bruma de agua nebulizada en el cañón, cuyo flujo ascendente puede ser percibido por los sentidos.

Now tranquil we went to visit the Victoria Falls on the Zambian side: what a volume of water! A bewitching spectacle. The depth of the fall, the wind, the volume of water, created the impression of a column of water droplets driven upwards which could be seen easily.

Las cataratas tienen un ancho de  1.7 km Caminamos por la ruta para observarlas desde diferentes puntos, con la certeza de poder observar un tercio del ancho total, el lado este de la catarata. Dado que la extensión del sendero de observación en Zambia es más corta en comparación con Zimbabwe, el parque tiene muchos menos visitantes y es posible tomarse el tiempo para apreciar la caída del agua, a pesar de la lluvia intensa en parte del camino, así que terminamos como patos en diluvio.

The falls have a width of 1.7 Km. We walked by the trail which gives a view from various points, with the certainty that we would be able to see a third of the total width, the northern side of the cataract. Given that the extent of the trail on the Zambian side is a lot shorter than that on the Zimbabwean side the park has far fewer visitors and it was possible to take our time to appreciate the water fall, in spite of the intense spray in one area of the trail leaving us like drenched cats.

Después de nuestra ducha decidimos tomar un barco por el Zambeze, al finalizar el día el río es tranquilo y relativamente silencioso, el río está lleno, pudimos observar hipopótamos, bushbucks, monos y varios pájaros no vistos.

After our shower we decided to take a boat on the Zambezi, to end the day the river was tranquil and quiet, the river full, we could see hippopotamus, bushbuck, monkeys, and various birds which we had not previously seen.

Con la caída del sol se acercaba el momento de una buena cena, como saldríamos relativamente temprano el día siguiente, decidimos mercar primero. Llenos de provisiones y al momento también de hambre, descubrimos que nuestra carro no encendía.

At sunset it was time for a good dinner; given that we planned an early start the following morning we decided to pick up some groceries first. We stocked up and then ready to eat, discovered that the car would not start...

Gracias a las gestiones de Isaac el gerente de kudu café, nosotros tuvimos una ligera pero deliciosa cena, pudimos dar señales de vida y Sam y su equipo llegaron al rescate, hicieron las verificaciones, decidieron establecer un by past directo al motor de arranque, para a media noche regresar a nuestro lodge. Llegamos a reírnos del día, disfrutar una copa de vino y elucubrar sobre el día siguiente.

Thanks to the help of Isaac, the manager of Kudu Café, we ate a light but delicious dinner, following which Sam and his team came to the rescue, made some adjustments, decided to "hotwire" the starter motor, so that at midnight we were able to return to the Lodge, where we laughed at our day, enjoyed a glass of wine, and prepared for the following day.

En Victoria falls, tuvimos acceso a Nelson y Ochinga, dos mecánicos expertos que hicieron una revisión profunda del sistema eléctrico, encontraron fallas en las conexiones que estaban impidiendo la carga de las baterías, así que corrigieron todo lo necesario para tener un encendido suave y apropiado. Once In Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe), we met Raymond, who introduced us to Nelson and Ochinga - two experts who did a complete check of the electrics of the car, found various failures in the wiring connections which were preventing the batteries from charging, and corrected everything so that we now have smooth and reliable starting.
