The days are clear, like the smiles of the people wwho greet us in the morning, friendly and curious, provoking great conversations over the sounds of cattle, dogs, and hyenas which accompany the dawn.

A discreet cloud of dust offers a special atmosphere, as if one is watching one of those old films whose colour has faded over time. In 19 degrees C people walk the streets with jackets, coats, and long-sleeved shirts. Women wear skirts, some even wear woollen trousers with diamond patterns. The shawls and colourful dresses are present everywhere; a variety of blues, purples, reds, yellows, and fuchsias are seen everywhere, accompanied by various hairstyles: braids, ribbons, knots, turbans, or very short hair, for those who don't want to invest their time in meeting the challenges of coiffure.

Most men wear dark trousers, their shirts well ironed, their hair very short - almost invisible, and some with the small taqiyah of their Muslim tradition.
We arrive at the main road and traffic appears before our eyes, just as if it were a working day, three lanes of a parking lot which become four when desperate drivers seek to open a way to move forward.
It is not uncommon to find earth pavements (sidewalks), and those which are paved disappear at the next corner. Flowers are present in the landscape and the greenery is combined with street sales of coat racks, hats, fertilisers, earth, the occasional giraffe, metal animals - surprisingly anatomically well made, baskets, pet beds, toilets, tyres, pants, dresses, charcoal, sofas, water, rope, laces, corncobs, sandals, shoe soles, haircuts, and the unmissable shoeshine - Nairobi is the first place in which we find wipes to shine shoes in the supermarket - and on each post publicity for something, notices of 120 mm x 60 mm, appropriate to the "adopt a post" campaign.

Multiple architectural styles are present, with eclecticism in the use of materials, colours, and shapes. On main streets, women sit on the ground with their pots and pans, offering hot drinks and something to eat at the beginning of the day. To complete the landscape small shops built with basic mateiral, which were once temporary, are full of fruit and fast food to survive.

Streets full of people, each at his or her own pace, men and women with their minds somewhere else, some with that discreet movement of the lips of one who is in his or her own conversation, coming or going in his or her own life.
Changing landscape and speed of movement, now we are on a highway, passing the only national nature park in the world located in a city, Nairobi Natural Park; the ostriches graze without much effort, accustomed to the noise of the city they do not flee at the strident sounds of the cars; at the other side of the road a woman grazes her cattle on an island of vegetation created by the fragmentation of the area with the construction of the main road, later a group of zebras feeds between the trees and a group of Thomson's gazelles do the same; it is funny to spot the first wild animals of this trip en route to the office of the Automobile Association of Kenya.
After two hours on the road, covering only 12 Km, we wait for the expert in the process to take care of our business, only she has the knowledge to do it, her secretary announces us and after a few minutes of interaction it is clearly evident that she is the right person: she understands everything, knows how to handle it, makes the appropriate contacts, executes the respective charges, and everything will be resolved in two days, when we must return to complete the process. Everything has its own pace, everything takes its own sweet speed, reminding us of the delight of calmness.

Datos importantes: 1.

lugar.
The office po the AA of Kenya is in Embakasi, a district of Nairobi and at the same time a neighbourhood. The access street is a market; everything is available from fresh vegetables to second-hand work boots, properly cleaned and ready to go, with dirt roads strewn with garbage and the plastic which we all consume, and five floor buildings covered in clothing drying in the breeze. Nearby, enclosed by fences and walls, we could see a very extensive informal settlement, it is Mukuru Kwa Njenga and is one of the largest poor settlements in the city.
